Meet the customer

Incore Bank AG, based in Schlieren near Zurich, is an internationally focused Swiss B2B bank for traditional and digital assets. For almost 20 years, it has provided banks and institutional clients with outsourcing and transaction banking services, from account management and securities trading to digital assets.

At a glance

Many companies accept that their eSigning provider can access every document they send for signature. For Incore Bank AG, that is not an option. As a FINMA-regulated Swiss bank, it has high requirements for data protection and information security. The bank was looking for a solution that keeps confidential document content protected, meets FINMA, ZertES and revDSG requirements, and ensures that digitally signed documents can still be verified in printed form. It was this combination that made Certifaction the right choice.

Incore Bank uses Certifaction primarily for onboarding new B2B clients and for documents that require a qualified electronic signature (QES).

The challenge

Before Certifaction, B2B onboarding was a paper-based process: documents were sent by courier, which was both time-consuming and expensive. Incore Bank therefore looked for a modern eSigning solution that would shorten onboarding times and reduce costs without compromising on data protection or security.

The solution

With Certifaction, Incore Bank has digitalised its signing processes without compromising the confidentiality of sensitive documents. Thanks to End-to-End Encryption that starts in the browser and a privacy-first approach based on Zero Document Knowledge, Certifaction itself never sees the content of the documents being signed, unlike conventional SaaS solutions. And Incore does not need to run costly on-premises infrastructure to achieve this.

Day to day, the bank uses the Certifaction web app, particularly for onboarding new B2B clients and for documents that require a QES. Another key component is the Digital Twin: it makes the link between a printed document and its digitally signed original verifiable, and even allows electronic and handwritten signatures to be combined in the same document.

The result

The biggest benefit is the time saved: instead of sending onboarding documents by courier, Incore Bank now signs the relevant documents electronically within minutes, while maintaining the same high standards of confidentiality and security.

Incore Bank also values the continuous development of the solution, such as the option to position signatures freely within a document, even for a QES. This makes documents that require several signatures from the same person noticeably easier to handle. As a next step, the bank plans to integrate Certifaction into its onboarding application via the API, embedding the signing process even more closely into its existing digital workflows.

Our answers to the most frequently asked questions

Yes. Our eSignatures are legally valid and support all major global standards (incl. eIDAS, ZertES, UETA, ESIGN).

In addition, you can choose the signature type that suits you best: from the cost-effective simple eSignature to the qualified eSignature (QES).

Unlike most competing providers, Certifaction offers the option of signing documents without ever seeing their content. The documents are processed locally on the customer side and encrypted when using the web app.

In the case of API integration, a local gateway takes over the encryption. In the event of a hack, the file would therefore be encrypted and unreadable. We also ensure that the documents are stored on ISO 27001-certified servers in Switzerland or an EU country.

Certifaction is a hybrid solution without a complex infrastructure. The connection is established via API or by installing the CLI client. This makes our eSignature solution more flexible and cost-effective than a solution that is operated in your own data centre.
