The Kantonspital Aarau (KSA) Group is the largest hospital organisation in the canton of Aargau and provides medical care for the population. At a total of five locations, qualified medical specialists look after the well-being of patients on a daily basis.

The challenge:
The Aarau Cantonal Hospital wanted to digitalise administrative business processes and therefore handle processes faster and more efficiently. To do this, they were looking for a secure solution that would treat documents such as employment contracts confidentially.
The KSA favoured a local signature provider from Switzerland that offered security and quality. The eSignature platform needed to be easy to use and cover all signature types. Single sign-on (SSO) was to be integrated into the technical implementation so that end users could quickly access the digital signature tool.

The solution
The KSA uses the Certifaction web app. Certifaction’s unique zero-document-knowledge technology enables the KSA to sign documents with the highest level of confidentiality by processing them locally and encrypting them E2E before transmission. This means that, unlike standard SaaS solutions on the market, Certifaction never has access to the signed documents, which is very important for sensitive medical content as well as salary data in employment contracts.
In addition to the high level of security, the platform is easy to use, both for KSA employees and for invited countersignatories, who can use the solution directly without creating an account.

Are Certifaction's eSignatures legally valid?
Yes. Our eSignatures are legally valid and support all major global standards (incl. eIDAS, ZertES, UETA, ESIGN).
In addition, you can choose the signature type that suits you best: from the cost-effective simple eSignature to the qualified eSignature (QES).
What is the Zero Document Knowledge technology and what are the advantages?
Unlike most competing providers, Certifaction offers the option of signing documents without ever seeing their content. The documents are processed locally on the customer side and encrypted when using the web app.
In the case of API integration, a local gateway takes over the encryption. In the event of a hack, the file would therefore be encrypted and unreadable. We also ensure that the documents are stored on ISO 27001-certified servers in Switzerland or an EU country.
Is there a white-labeled version of Certifaction?
How much integration work is involved?
The Certifaction WebApp can be used immediately in the browser. The eSignature solution can also be integrated quickly via an API connection. Alternatively, the solution can be used as a white label product with full personalisation. Depending on the requirements, this is ready within a few weeks.
