The problem

In this day and age, can we really trust all the documents we are presented with? How do you know if a document is genuine or forged?

Forgery software is readily available and makes manipulation easy. For example, fake diplomas from any university or college can be bought on the internet with just a few clicks – both in paper and digital form – for a ridiculously low price. This creates uncertainty for employers and casts doubt on an applicant’s credibility. This, in turn, is unfair to students who have invested time and money to earn their degree legitimately.

The problem is much bigger than you might think. Dr George Brown estimated in a UNESCO study that “30% of managers worldwide have qualifications they do not possess.” We need to be wary of fake credentials and insist on certification and verification of documents.

Searching for “fake diplomas” on Google brings up over 24 million search results. The top results are websites such as “phonydiploma.com”, “realisticdiplomas.com” and “Same Day Diplomas”.

What needs to be done
